Step Lively Two-Week Residency
Step Lively is a school based, in-depth, statewide movement education residency program specifically designed to assist classroom teachers in the implementation and fulfillment of the objectives of the Utah Dance Core Curriculum. Open to all Utah school districts, grades K-12, Step Lively encourages students to experience, explore, create, perform, observe, critique, and gain aesthetic literacy. Through the engagement of mind/body/spirit, dance education encourages and celebrates individual differences as well as the importance of community.
These free residency programs include performances, teaching, support for teachers, a parent/child night, and a performance by the students for their peers. Participating schools attend the annual children's matinee at the Capitol Theatre. Residencies are geographically limited to the Wasatch Front and require an application process.

Lecture Demonstrations
The interactive lecture demonstration is taken to schools outside of the two-week residency. Ririe-Woodbury's Education Director narrates the lecture-demonstration while the dancers perform excerpts from the Company's repertory to illustrate dance principles of time, space, shape, and motion. Book-blocking within a district can also be arranged.

Community Residencies
To further the extensive work Ririe-Woodbury does in the schools, they are committed to building communities through dance. Collaborating and coordinating with educators, community leaders, parents, and interested individuals, the Company can offer lecture demonstrations, performances, movement classes, teachers workshops, parent/child evenings, and other events for the community at large. Schedules are determined by the needs of the community. Three, Four, or Five day long community residencies are available.
