Our spring performance features the premiere of "one hundred thousand" by Johannes Wieland, currently choreographer in residence at the Tanztheater at the State Theater of Kassel, Germany. His work meticulously and uninhibitedly explores contemporary urban life. The result is a richness of unconventional, explicit ideas presented with baffling technical agility and visually arresting images.
Also restaged, If My Right Hand Would Say What My Left Hand Thought (2005), is the provocative work by Mexican choreographer, Alicia Sanchez, based on the writing of Paul Auster.
Rounding out the performance is the stunning, Bridge, by Charlotte Boye-Christensen, about the division created between men and women, and the physical entanglements that ensue.
This is the final performance of Ririe-Woodbury with Charlotte Boye-Christensen as Artistic Director, who steps down after a remarkable 11 seasons with the company.
