A native of Southern California, Melissa Younker began training in many movement forms at a young age. She holds a BFA from the Department of Dance at California State University, Long Beach where she received the 2013-2014 Lana Alper Memorial Scholarship. While in California she studied with and performed choreography by John Beasant III, Linda Sohl-Ellison, Mike Esperanza, Keith Johnson, Alex Ketley, among others.

Since joining Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company in 2014, Melissa has had the privilege to work with and perform an array of works by Aristic Director Daniel Charon, along with choreographers Adam Barruch, Jonah Bokaer, Ann Carlson, Joanna Kotze, Alwin Nikolais, Doug Varone, Johannes Wieland, Netta Yerushalmy, and more.
