Total Ellipse

September 16-18, 2021, 7:30 PM - Jeanne Wagner Theater at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center

Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company’s Moving Parts Family and Sensory Friendly Performance - September 18, 2021, 1 PM

September 16-18 - Total Ellipse will be a homecoming to the Jeanne Wagner Theater in the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center. The performance will feature a commissioned world premiere, Two Hearted by Keerati Jinakunwiphat, a New York City based artist who currently dances with Kyle Abraham’s A.I.M. Jinakunwiphat is known for her rich athleticism and was named Dance Magazine’s 25 to Watch in 2021. Raja Feather Kelly’s PANTHEON will return to the Rose Wagner where it first premiered in 2017. This piece transposes the Rite of Spring to the twenty-first century world of pop culture and the sacrifices it demands. The commission of PANTHEON was supported by a  Princess Grace USA Award in choreography. A world-premiere by Artistic Director, Daniel Charon, titled On Being, will accompany the guest artist’s creations. This dance explores social healing and how looking within can inform the greater good. In addition to the danceworks presented onstage as part of this performance, the lobby of the Rose Wagner will feature the artwork of visual artist Jordan Johnson––offering two art experiences in one night. While we are preparing for this performance to be made available to live audiences, we are maintaining the option to offer on-demand viewing to those who may not feel safe returning to the theater.

Out of an abundance of caution and to experience this performance as safely as possible, masks will be required of the audience. A live streaming performance option is also being included and pursued.
