Dance West 2026 is a two-week intensive presented by Repertory Dance Theatre, Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, and the University of Utah School of Dance—bringing together some of the region’s most celebrated artists and educators.

Ririe-Woodbury’s Teacher Workshop is designed for teachers who are working in university, professional, and/or secondary school settings. Shared experiences in technique, improvisation, choreography, and theory will provide participants with the opportunity for artistic growth and rejuvenation. Participants will address the Utah State Core Curriculum requirements, trends in the field, and issues of dance training and dance making in order to increase and elevate teaching skills and practices.

These two-day (or full 6-day) workshops, taught by the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company dancers, are designed specifically for high school and middle school students. Classes include contemporary dance technique, improvisation, composition, and electives (hip-hop, ballet, yoga, folk dance, etc). Young Dancer Workshop provides an incredible opportunity for students to work closely with Ririe-Woodbury Dancers. The Company will create an original work of choreography with each school for the students to perform at the end of the workshop.

Y.A.I.M.(Young Artists In Motion) is a dance education program designed for high school and middle school students.
