Blue Sky Theater: The Elements of Dance (approximately 20 minutes) and the Resource Package comes as an effort to continue bringing dance and education virtually as well as face to face interactions into your classroom. Thanks to the Utah Education Network’s generous support, we had the opportunity to reimagine our education and outreach programming in ways that we could not have imagined before during the pandemic year, 2020-21. As a positive outcome of this tumultuous time, we were able to create a resource for teachers that will benefit their classrooms well beyond the unconventional year.
The first film in the series, Blue Sky Theater: The Elements of Dance brings to you the beautiful and inspiring sceneries of Utah and shows how dancers find their movements everywhere, as long as they are under a blue sky. The dancers also artistically and skillfully demonstrate the elements of dance. It is followed by a series of Youtube tutorials where each of the concepts shown in the film is broken down into simple steps classroom teachers can immediately use. All the creative and inspirational activities are designed to be adaptable for all kinds of teaching situations, however, we offer special considerations for online/virtual teaching strategies.
