Smile Pretty is a new work created for Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company. By deconstructing the traditional "family portrait," this visceral dance-theater piece examines how the presence of a lens alters our bodies, dictates our behavior, and shifts our perception of reality. The piece challenges both performers and audience to question: What are we hiding? And are we ever truly unobserved? Through dynamic movement and sensitive storytelling, the piece dives into the realities that lie behind our curated, everyday lives.
